The ASD Network is designed to assist school personnel, families and students in developing quality programs for students with ASD that meet the same high standards established for all students by:
- Maintaining the capacity of school personnel to meet the needs of students with ASD.
- Sustaining the work of school personnel as they increase access to the general curriculum for students with ASD.
- Supporting personnel as they ensure the participation of students with ASD in state and district accountability and assessment efforts.
- Providing technical assistance on program development.
Participation will include:
- Meeting with current partners and examine current roles.
- Developing professional development opportunities.
- Enhancing communication within the ASD network and cultivate pathways for dissemination of resource information.
- Increasing the number of individuals receiving technical assistance.
- Developing partnerships and resources for recruitment and retention of teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, other support staff and teacher assistants to build the capacity of local school systems to meet the needs
- Identifying and addressing issues, emerging needs and changing practices that impact the delivery of quality educational and support services.
