The LEAnet
A coalition of Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and related partners has
formed called the LEAnet. The LEAnet was created to protect school health services from current and
pending cuts in Federal Medicaid programs. It is an informal organization intended
to support current LEA initiatives and offer resources for new ones. For more
information, visit the LEAnet
web site.
The LEAnet website also maintains a one-stop resource page
with links to documents, publications and Supreme Court cases affecting school
health. Visit the LEAnet resources page.
The LEAnet is sponsoring a petition in
opposition to the proposed cuts in the President’s Fiscal Year 2007 budget that
would eliminate transportation and administrative claiming for LEAs across the
country. If you are interested, please sign the
online petition.
The petition will be forwarded to Secretary Leavitt and to appropriate Members
of Congress shortly after the election.
