Training Module for Use with Teacher Assistants Who Work with Students Who Have English as a Second Language

This resource was developed through a RIDE grant by Nancy K. French, director of the PAR2A Center of the University of Colorado at Denver & nationally recognized expert on this topic. It trains TAs in competencies specified in RIDE State Guidelines for TAs Working Students who Have English as a Second Language. The module is an outstanding product with easy-to-follow scripts for the trainer with lecture notes & step-by-step activity instructions, handouts & overhead masters. The module is divided into 7 parts, all available in PDF for downloading. Some components are appropriate for use with both teachers & TAs. Also, some components can be modified for use with any type of TA, not just TAs working with students who have English as a second language.

Module A - Roles & Responsibilities of Teachers & TAs in ESL Programs (128KB / 67 pages)
