What We Do – The Rhode Island Technical Assistance Project (RITAP)

What We Do

(RITAP) at Rhode Island College is a grant funded project sponsored by the Rhode Island Department of Education. RITAP is available to provide technical assistance and training, policy analysis, as well as programs and services implementation regarding the education of children with disabilities.

Located on the campus of Rhode Island College at the Old Alumni House, RITAP also maintains offices within the Rhode Island Department of Education Office of Special Populations. Through collaboration with RIC, RITAP is a statewide resource for schools, parents, and advocacy organizations, the Rhode Island Department of Education and other state agencies, and Institutions of Higher Education in Rhode Island. RITAP is governed by a Project Management Team.

Staff are involved in policy development across project areas and are available to provide individual, district, regional, and statewide technical assistance through consultation, individual contacts, workshops, conferences, and publications. The Project also maintains a lending resource library housed at RIC.
